Gone is Valentine

A poem in Vietnamese by Lê Vĩnh Tài
Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm
Photof₫graphy: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

gone is Valentine

the poets

veered towards a different direction

where the flowers blossom

bloom, blushing

where is the spectre of you

you’re as thin and brittle as a twig

you remain in my dreams

in the x-ray film

your bones

fractured in layers

of pain and affliction

FEBRUARY 2022

_____

hết ngày valentine

các nhà thơ

cũng rẽ sang hướng khác

nơi những bông hoa nở

ra và đỏ mặt

bóng ma của bạn ở đâu

bạn khẳng khiu như một cành cây

bạn ở lại giấc mơ của tôi

trong tấm phim x-quang

xương của bạn

gãy và xếp lớp

như nỗi đau
