The idea of endless love

A poem in Vietnamese by Phạm Hiền Mây
Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

the idea of endless love is how much

agony or joy in such risky deployment

how much ups and down sounds enough

the extent of how much heaven and earth

before the undone of the chastity belt

the idea of endless love is pink or purple

lush bushes or through plush moist crevices

drag race till we’re satisfied

on our back till age couldn’t be denied

the idea of endless love is lopsided or round

long or short so we can both dream… .

HỎI CÁI TRĂM NĂM… .

cái trăm năm ít hay nhiều

sướng hay khổ để thân liều thử phen

mấy lên xuống mới thành quen

mấy trời đất mới tháo then thiên đường

cái trăm năm tím hay hường

cỏ um hay lối nõn nường nước khe

để ta một trận chấu xe

đã đời rồi ngửa nằm nghe tuổi mòn

cái trăm năm méo hay tròn

ngắn hay dài để nhau còn giấc mơ… .
