SPRING DAY

–

fingertips fragrant steeped in a spot of tea

touched upon a steep hill draped in endless sunlight

a spring day suddenly scented in merrymaking

–

a spring day

without a hand to hold

–

I took it upon myself be it lead 

be it spring led me 

with utmost care and gentleness

into the layers of soft clouds

–

the breath of spring lightly sweet

drapes the length of the sound deep blue pavement

–

a spring day

always there’s someone

always thoughtful

always worth our waiting

–

our wistful yearning heartache gone

our eyes yearn to touch upon tranquillity

–

the Sun innocently up high dangling

innocent like the flowers 

in their brilliance ever ceasing

–

NGÀY MÙA XUÂN

–

nhúm chút trà đẫm hương trên năm đầu ngón tay

nghe chạm vào đồi cao ngùn ngụt nắng

ngày mùa xuân chợt ríu rít thơm thơm

–

ngày mùa xuân

không ai cầm tay ta

–

là ta tự dắt ta đi

là mùa xuân dắt đưa ta

cẩn trọng dịu dàng

vào tầng tầng mây nõn

–

hơi thở mùa xuân dịu ngọt

trải dài con phố biếc xanh

–

ngày mùa xuân

luôn có một ai đó

luôn có một điều gì đó

đáng để ta chờ đợi

–

những đau thương ta mong đã qua rồi

bình yên giờ đôi mắt ta mong chạm tới

–

mặt trời mùa xuân hồn nhiên treo trên cao

hồn nhiên như những bông hoa

chưa bao giờ thôi rực rỡ

Đinh Thị Như Thuý, born 16-9-1965 in Hue,Vietnam. The Vietnamese poet attended high school in Danang, and university in Dalat, then was a literature teacher in Krong Pac district, Dak Lak province. Currently, she works at the Union of Literature and Arts of Da Nang city. She also used the pseudonyms Như Thuý, Như Dã Quỳ.

Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm, the blogger, poet, and translator, was born in 1971 in Phu Nhuan, Saigon, Vietnam. The pharmacist currently lives and works in Western Sydney, Australia.
