MIDNIGHT PORTRAIT

Lying with demons, sleeping with ghosts
The turn of the hour startled by the crock crow
Sweeps of colour on the canvas half finished
A flourished mess
=
Lips buzzing in the form of insects
Glimpses of a nation
Half removed, half remained
Miraculous strokes of colours both soft and firm
=
The zenith of joy, the climax of sadness
Bound by a frame, the origin of black and white
Soon anyone’s name will be ashes
A chilling portrait turning blood red, a bloody mess.

CHÂN DUNG LÚC NỬA ĐÊM

Nằm với quỷ, ngủ cùng ma
Giựt mình, thức với tiếng gà sang canh
Cầm bay vẽ nửa bức tranh
Bao nhiêu hỗn độn mà thành chân dung
–
Cái môi nói tiếng côn trùng
Cái đôi mắt ngó chập chùng nước non
Nửa như mất, nửa như còn
Sắc màu vi diệu vừa tròn vừa vuông

Tận cùng vui, đỉnh điểm buồn
Cũng trong bố cục cội nguồn trắng đen
Một mai cát bụi thay tên
Bức chân dung lạnh hiện lên máu hồng.

Hometown: Tịnh Đông Tây, Đại Lãnh, Đại Lộc, Quảng Nam.
Bachelor of Arts and Literature at The University of Huế, 1998.
Master in Hán-Nôm, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, The National University of Hà Nội, 2011.
Ph.D. in Linguistics, The Faculty of Science, The University of Huế, 2014.
Currently a resident lecturer of the Faculty of Education, The University of Huế.
