you have tattooed on your chest

the letter F

.

an old tattoo, you had done when you were drunk

maybe it stands for “free” or “face”

like to leave the house you had to put on a face

.

you hate your tattoo

because it itches and bleeds

the skin around the tattoo was swollen

angry and red

.

one night the tattoo shifted suddenly

sounds crazy but it drove you mad

truthfully it had

rose all the way up to your neck

what the heck

.

you hate your tattoo

because you know

out there, there are many romantics who loves poetry

their soul bright and kind

though a bit unrefined 

.

now the tattoo is alone in a room

as darkness quietly shifted

in time with your shadow 

.

you knew not many

were brave enough

to look 

at the tattoo

.

though they’re dying to

because you are very, very pretty…

bạn có một hình xăm trên ngực

hai chữ ĐM 

.

bạn xăm lâu rồi, khi đã say rượu 

chữ ĐM bạn cũng không nhớ 

nó có thể là “đi-mưa” hay “đội-mũ”

như bạn luôn đội mũ bảo hiểm khi ra đường

.

bạn ghét hình xăm của bạn

vì nó chảy máu và ngứa

da xung quanh hình xăm hơi sưng lên

màu đỏ giận dữ

.

vào một đêm hình xăm tự nhiên nhúc nhích 

nghe có vẻ điên rồ

nhưng quả thực nó dâng cao tận cổ

làm bạn nổ

tung

.

bạn ghét hình xăm của bạn

vì bạn biết

đời này đầy những kẻ yêu thơ và lãng mạn

tâm hồn họ đã trong còn sáng

chỉ có dáng đi hơi chàng hảng

.

bây giờ cái hình xăm ở một mình trong phòng

trong lúc bóng tối âm thầm di chuyển

cùng với bóng của bạn

.

bạn biết cũng chả mấy ai có can đảm dám nhìn

cái hình

xăm

.

dù họ vẫn thèm

vì bạn rất xinh…
