AN ACHING DISCERNED BY HEAVEN AND EARTH?
`
Who would have thought the sky could weep?
Who would have thought the earth capable of mourning?
Humanity pulling at its hair
The rows of blood-soaked tears!
`
The heavens, the cause of floods
Tearing wives and husbands apart
The gale tearing at the mind
The heartache, the confusion
`
The innocent child
In its mother’s womb
To greet the world
But the sky, vicious and cold!
`
Yes life is a tragedy
Yes life is impermanent
But why the tears
Why the division of love?!
`
The horrid winds, angry waters
Stolen your mother and you, child
Nine months dear baby
Not enough for this world!
`
On my knees
Amidst heaven and earth
Wife, child, nowhere to be found
Nothing but a battered soul
`
On my knees
Does heaven know?
Rising waters, rapids
Ripping apart husband and wife!

NỖI ĐAU CÓ THẤU ĐẤT TRỜI?

Ai tin trời gào khóc?
Ai tin đất kêu than?
Người vò đầu bứt tóc
Mắt máu tuôn hai hàng!
`
Trời gây nên lũ lụt
Cho vợ chồng ly tan
Gió mưa càng não nuột
Nỗi đau thêm bàng hoàng
`
Tội tình chi con ơi!
Còn nằm trong bụng mẹ
Con sắp sửa chào đời
Mà trời xanh ác thế!
`
Vẫn biết đời dâu bể
Vẫn biết đời vô thường
Sao cứ đem dòng lệ
Ngăn cách bờ yêu thương?!
`
Gió to, con nước dữ
Cướp mất mẹ, con rồi
Chín tháng sao chưa đủ
Để chào đời con ơi!

Quỳ dưới mưa, mà lạy
Giữa đất trời mênh mông
Vợ, con, nào đâu thấy
Chỉ thấy tan nát lòng
`
Quỳ dưới mưa, mà lạy
Đất trời có thấu không?
Nước dâng, cuồn cuộn chảy
Xé làm đôi vợ chồng!

Bachelor of Arts and Literature at The University of Huế, 1998.
Master in Hán-Nôm, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, The National University of Hà Nội, 2011.
Ph.D. in Linguistics, The Faculty of Science, The University of Huế, 2014.
Currently a resident lecturer of the Faculty of Education, The University of Huế.
