A life worth living

A LIFE WORTH LIVING I walked down the footpath she led me Along the Olympic drive, I did see We walked quietly amidst screaming cars I wanted it to end if I wanted to go far It was loud, the spinning of tires. Screeching relentless full of desire I heard it’s calling. I wanted to go. I was just tire so tired, but she said no “If you go I will be alone… The children were you, they were born. Your parents have no choice. They’ve never had a voice…” So we turned into the side street. There the colour of autumn greets The wheel of the season slow Yet my heart was like lead, so old. _____ JUNE 2018
