in sleep my craving for you less

A poem in English by Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

—–
trong giấc ngủ, em bớt thèm anh
sự ham muốn của em sẽ tặng cho anh giấc mơ
trí tưởng tượng dâm đãng kỳ diệu của em
sáng mai dậy em còn mắc cỡ

em sẽ leo lên ngọn Everest
nuốt từng ngụm whisky như nuốt từng tội lỗi
em sẽ tiêu từng xu
để em có thể quên anh

cho đến lúc.
giấc mơ chịu set-up anh là của em.

in sleep my craving for you less
my lust for you a dream
my salacious imagination tame
me prickly in the morning, shame.

I will climb Mount Everest
swallow whisky like a crime
spend every penny and a dime
so I may forget you till it was time.

in dreams by design, you are mine.
