Christmas shall soon pass by

A poem in Vietnamese by Đinh Trường Chinh
Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm
Photography: Đinh Trường Chinh

.

Christmas shall soon pass by

the world stay much the same

leaning into the afternoon

a soul youthful, endlessly dismayed

.

the sunlight fragile shone

trapped in the bright clouds

tears in bluestone

to life fall, the shattering doubts

.

December shall pass by, discard

fall into sound breathing

words of regards

there in the quiet, longing.

.

December 2020

_____

giáng sinh rồi đi qua

còn trần gian ở lại

về ngồi tựa vách chiều

nghe hồn đun tuổi dại

.

ánh nắng nào mong manh

nhốt trong lòng mây sáng

lệ có là đá xanh

rơi xuống đời vỡ rạn

.

tháng chạp rồi trôi tan

rơi chìm sâu hơi thở

gửi một lời hỏi han

vào thinh không nỗi nhớ.

🙂
