soundly the night sleeps

A poem in Vietnamese by Đinh Trường Chinh
Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm
Art: Đinh Trường Chinh

soundly asleep the night

soundly asleep the rows of trees

sounding suddenly upon rooftops falling stars

.

on a rooftop

woke a cat just

searching for a new love

.

December 2020

_____

đêm ngủ yên

những hàng cây ngủ yên

tiếng sao rơi xuống những mái nhà

.

trên mái nhà

một con mèo vừa thức dậy

để đi tìm một cuộc tình khác
