Viet Pham, born Phạm Trọng Việt 1954, Phạm Thiên Mạc was a pen name he used in Vietnam. Viet was a poet and a prolific translator who shared his translations on social media. He settled in Canada after the Vietnam War. Viet passed away in September 2025.  The world will miss his compassion and sense of humour, and I will miss him, my most unlikely collaborator and friend..
