A poem in Vietnamese by Bạch Diệp
Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

The excitement of flying with the birds
The fabric of spring drapes like silk across the prairie
The light afternoon mist across a river, drowsy
Spring like a silent drunken sigh
Time like clouds in a hurry flies by
Golden light and the season at its height
Like smoke I’m gone on a high
Rushed off leaving my heart behind
On the meadow of my childhood, kisses
Scattered hay stacks in pieces
Remorseful glances across a windy moor
Spring barely felt by the villagers and it was no more ..
XUÂN MƠ
Bay theo đàn chim nôn nao bình minh
Tấm lụa mùa xuân phơi tơ cánh đồng
Sương chiều lưa thưa dòng sông ngái ngủ
Lời xuân khe khẽ men dâng dâng say

this is truly beautiful Nguyen. Love the imagery you created in words …”The fabric of spring draped silk across the meadows
💖💖
The light afternoon mist hovered above the sleepy river”
