Tears of an aching soul

A poem in Vietnamese by Phạm Hiền Mây
Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

TEARS OF AN ACHING SOUL… .

.

the gift we gave each other

the sadness of lifetimes long ago

the sadness of rendezvous so old

in a rush gushing

returning

.

the sadness of endless eons

the melancholy brimming

.

long is life

deep in endearment, sinking

absent souls

.

the rain outside, never easing

in view of each raindrop, the awakening

lonely sunken heart, tormenting

.

tears

of an aching soul… .

.

LỆ THÂN ĐAU… .

.

ta mang đến tặng nhau

những nỗi buồn từ muôn kiếp trước

đang về mau

những nỗi buồn từ muôn hẹn trước

tuôn về sau

.

những cơn buồn, bao thủa

những âu sầu, hoen úa

.

đời thì lâu

tình chìm sâu

người rồi đâu

.

ngoài trời mưa hoài, không dứt

nhìn hạt rơi hoài, thao thức

mình lòng u hoài, ray rứt

.

lệ

thân đau… .

.
