Love
Were there enough joy
In the mere hour
The summer
The rain dragged out the corner of one’s eye
The crystalline drop of earth shattering loneliness
The half of one heart yearning for the other half of its heart
A heart restless without rest
A storm chasing one storm after the other
A heart going crazy
A heart so far away
Heart to heart
Beyond the storm and grass
Forget the solitude
Forget the arid midday sun
A storm within a heart wanting
Yearning to be noticed
The storm within one’s eyes siding
Against the endless uphill slope
Against the sun
Against memory
Against separation…

Mùa hạ ấy cơn mưa dài đuôi mắt
Giọt thuỷ tinh
Tiếng vỡ ly cô độc
Có một người chỉ nhớ một người thôi
Có một người náo động không nguôi
Cơn mưa ấy chạy như là đuổi bắt
Một người yêu như điên
Một người xa tắp
Người với người còn hơn cỏ với mưa

Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm, the blogger, poet, and translator, was born in 1971 in Phu Nhuan, Saigon, Vietnam. The pharmacist currently lives and works in Western Sydney, Australia.
