it’s pain on a white piece of paper
not a poem
battering, crippling, numbing
deaden emotions, there’s nothing left to feel
you are left with nothing child, the pain
the hopelessness, I too
need to
leave
you
we do not have a name
we are the nameless
fallen people

nỗi đau trống rỗng
tan nát, gục ngã, chẳng còn gì trong lòng
cảm xúc của chúng ta đã chết
bỏ lại em trắng tay, đau đớn
cảm giác vô vọng, anh cũng cần
thoát
khỏi
em
chúng ta không có tên
chúng ta là những người vô danh
ngã xuống
Lê Vĩnh Tài, the poet and translator born in 1966 in Buon Ma Thuot, Daklak, Vietnam. The retired doctor is still a resident of the Western Highlands and a businessman in Buon Ma Thuot.
Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm, the blogger, poet, and translator, was born in 1971 in Phu Nhuan, Saigon, Vietnam. The pharmacist currently lives and works in Western Sydney, Australia.
