A poem in Vietnamese by Đinh Trường Chinh
Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm
coming home to autumn
coming home to the misty landscape
discern the turn of the afternoon
waking up in a room
hinting of doom
come home. come home to.
fill a glass to the brim with spirit
blow away coats of dusty moments
refresh a rather tired
facade of the night
left behind is the silence of
passing tornadoes
lost love
welcome. the cold of autumn …
–
trở về với mùa thu
trở về với sương mù
nghe buổi chiều thức dậy
trong căn phòng âm u
trở về. trở về thôi.
rót cho mình lưng rượu
thổi lớp bụi thời gian
lau mặt đêm đã cũ
những trận bão kéo sang
để lại ngày hiu quạnh
nghe tình vừa đi ngang
nhìn ra. mùa thu lạnh …
– vè sến chiều thứ sáu 🙂

To the Beauty of Your Soul
You are a light woven with words,
A depth that echoes in every verse.
Your soul flows like a gentle breeze,
Love and feeling hidden in each word.
Your words fall like pearls to the heart,
Each sentence a hope, each line a dream.
Your meaning is as vast as the sky,
Your soul, a smile neighbor to the stars.
As you write, spring awakens silently,
Your words become soil for thirsty hearts.
Your pen, as clear as a mirror of your soul,
Each syllable, sincere, heartfelt, and true.
Oh, dearest friend with a beautiful soul,
Know that you will live within a poem.
Write, speak, let the words flow,
For your story is an endless flame.
