I’m soaking up the short-lived joy
While at the end of the world you’re outspoken in the heat
Sweet is the night-blooming jasmine
Rich is the cream covered cake of your childhood
The season rougher via the stirring wind
The amber fire of long ago cools in the dying ashes
This Christmas I’m a wanderer
I’m a lonely traveller while you are a thousand lively stars
Us locking eyes in a moment of joy and gratitude
A quiet hymn amidst the sombre darkness
A revelation of a diamond through the twinkling crystal light
A sparkle of festivity
The end of another cycle and a year older
Swishy muddy footsteps out of the way
Your realm is apparent with love blooming late into the season

Tôi nông nổi với niềm vui*
Và em xởi lởi cuối trời hanh hao
Mùi dạ lý có ngạt ngào
Chiếc bánh kem ngọt từ bao lâu rồi
Mùa rạn đi với gió cời
Bếp hồng lửa cũ lạnh hơi tro tàn
Nô en này ta lang thang
Tôi nơi chấm một em ngàn sao xanh
Ngó nhau ân phúc cũng đành
Hát thầm ca nguyện giữa tranh tối buồn
Ánh lưu ly bỗng hạt cườm
Lóe lên một chút tinh tươm hội hè

Bachelor of philosophy, and postgraduate of political science and commerce at The university of Văn Khoa Sài Gòn.

Worked at the Ministry of Transport and Communication, a branch of the General Department of Postal Service of the Republic of Vietnam.

After 1975 worked in the Postal Office for 7 years. December 1981 settled in Montreal, Canada.

The poet’s career span from 1970 to the present day his work has been published in many literary publications. In vietnam: Văn, Chính Văn, Diễn Ðàn, Khởi Hành, Nghiên Cứu Văn Học, Ðối Diện, Thân Hữu, Xây Dựng Nông Thôn, Ngưỡng Cửa, Nhà Văn.
