A poem by Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm
Vũ Hoàng Thư phỏng dịch

I’m done for the night.

It gets like that
I’m immersed in a vernacular
that is not mine

Blocking out the articulation of the murderous dark
the shadows in my heart

The shimmering glorious sadness
on the shoulders that aren’t
mine

Not mine
not mine
not mine
not at all
mine
no

Tôi xếp lại buổi tối.

Cứ như vậy
đắm mãi trong ngôn từ bản trạch
chẳng phải của tôi

Chống chọi lời đêm thầm thì nghẹt thở
những đen tối tự cõi lòng

Niềm sầu thảm lung linh hào nháng
ập xuống bờ vai nào phải
của tôi

Chẳng phải của tôi
chẳng phải của tôi
chẳng phải của tôi
nào có đâu
của tôi
Không
