A poem in English by Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm
I chased the moon and it stopped for me
Breathless much to gain much much were attained
Heart pregnant with pride spirit soar in glee
I danced on the moon it clapped for me
Jubilant in motion gayer notions
My whole exalted my spirit was free
I sat by the moon and it stood by me
I reached for the stars and it seemed thus far
I stopped by the wayside and darkness heed
I lay on the moon and it cradled me
I dreamed of sunlight and all of its might
I woke in dead silence with naught to see
I died on the moon and it buried me
I was naked in earth moon dust maketh
I am worms I am maggots I am she
