the first light soft like ash
kissed me as I opened my eyes
a take away cup of green tea
beneath a haphazardly capped canopy

steps on a fragile thread of a path
herald dark rain beneath a cloud
scratched keys of the piano at the back of my cracked heels
imprints of a short chord

from this intoxicating earth
steaming sand dunes
cat’s eyes green long breaches
scouring the foot of the trees

and all the stars, noise of like minds
thicken like abandoned mounts of dirt
machines formed from words
swimming in olive oil, scent of glorious herbs

I’m stand on a bridge that had lost its shadow
maddening mournful cries of the traffic
stressful pieces lost trying to find closure
forced into a corroding mould of fate and destiny

I’m dressed for ceremony in the dark
I’m writing as though I’m stealing fire
someone out there is trying to find their way
a flicker, of neglect and dust

một bóng tắt mở, hoang sơ và bụi

buổi sáng mềm như tro
hôn tôi mở mắt
tách trà xanh mang đi
dưới hàng cây mũ lệch

bước lên sợi mỏng manh của con đường
dưới đám mây báo mưa màu xám
gót chân tôi giống các phím sứt mẻ cây đàn
dấu in trên một hợp âm ngắn

từ mặt đất say mê
những cồn cát thổi ra hơi nước
những bãi biển dài xanh mắt mèo
bên gốc cây sục sạo

và các ngôi sao, những âm thanh cùng ý nghĩ
dầy lên như gò đất bỏ hoang
những cỗ máy làm bằng lời nói
bơi trong dầu ô-liu, hương thảo mộc huy hoàng

tôi đứng trên cây cầu mất bóng
tiếng còi xe rên rỉ như điên
những mảnh ghép căng thẳng và thất lạc
ép đùn trong khuôn số phận hao mòn

tôi mặc lễ phục cho bóng tối
tôi viết như đánh cắp lửa
ai đó đang mò mẫm trên đường
một bóng tắt mở, hoang sơ và bụi
