
Phạm Thiên Thư was born Phạm Kim Long [January 1, 1940 – died May 7, 2026] was a Vietnamese poet. He left his secular life a monk, hence was his profound knowledge of Buddhism. He was considered as “poet who transformed Buddhist scriptures into poetry” and was the author of many poems that reflect the philosophy he believed in. Many of his poems were popularized by Phạm Duy, a northern composer of his time, like “Ngày Xưa Hoàng Thị”, “Đưa em tìm động hoa vàng, and various other Buddhist songs.
