My ship drifting
In a glass mirror of bright water
I’m lost in time.

You’re the un-moving storm
My home, in an alcove sheltered from the wind
There sits a blind man and his accordion.

The flash of light woke me
Upon frothy shores as white (fluffy) as cotton wool…

Thuyền tôi trôi
Trên mặt nước sáng như gương
Thời gian khiến tôi lạc đường.

Em: Cơn lốc đứng yên
Căn nhà tôi nằm trong vùng tĩnh gió
Nơi một người mù đang chơi phong cầm.

Ánh chớp làm tôi thức giấc
Trên những bến bờ bọt trắng như bông…


Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm, the blogger, poet, and translator, was born in 1971 in Phu Nhuan, Saigon, Vietnam. The pharmacist currently lives and works in Western Sydney, Australia.

Pháp Hoan, born Mai Công Lập in 1992, in Bình Thuận, Vietnam. The poet and translator currently living in Vancouver, Canada.
