Women, they scare me, ah!
they shove and push, they squeeze .
the more they squeeze, I’m pleased,
what scares me the most is well
half way through the squeeze
ahumn.. they leave!
Đàn bà
đàn bà dễ sợ quá , a !
nó kềm , nó kẹp đời ta quá chừng .
nó càng kẹp , ta càng mừng ,
chỉ sợ nó kẹp nửa chừng ,
nó .. thả ra !
đàn ông tôi thích quá, á !
nó vo, nó vuốt nó làm ta cưng .
nó càng vuốt , ta càng nhiều cảm hứng ,
chỉ sợ nó hết cảm hứng nửa chừng ,
ta .. ngủ không được !

Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm, the blogger, poet, and translator, was born in 1971 in Phu Nhuan, Saigon, Vietnam. The pharmacist currently lives and works in Western Sydney, Australia.

Young soldiers in the middle of a war often find themselves at a brothel, they don’t know if they were going to survive the next fight. Might help you read the poem differently 🙂
