being married 30 years is like an epic poem
no different to serving 3 life sentences for murder

you want to sometimes strangle each other to death
but you can’t, you made things together
like children, it won’t be one murder
it will be a massacre

you take a deep breath and you say hey
remember the first time we met
our first kiss
hell we must have slept together at least twice
look at our two grown adult children

how can I forget your left arm around my shoulders
each time you thought I was troubled
how can I forget the dirty nappies
you changed for our children in the middle of the night
so I can sleep

sure, I cried
the frustrations of marriage
but I can’t imagine any other life
than this life with you

30 năm hôn nhân như một trường ca
như 3 kiếp tù án chung thân tội giết người

đôi khi bạn chỉ muốn bóp cổ nhau mà chết
nhưng bạn không thể, hai bạn đã cùng nhau tạo lên tất cả
như con của chúng ta, nó sẽ không chỉ là một vụ giết người
nó sẽ là một cuộc thảm sát

bạn hít một hơi thật sâu và nói “hey”
nhớ lần đầu ta gặp nhau
nụ hôn đầu kia ôi trời mình ơi
ta hẳn đã ngủ với nhau ít nhất hai lần
nhìn kìa hai đứa con trưởng thành ta chúng không cần

làm sao em có thể quên cánh tay trái vòng vai em
mỗi lần anh nghĩ em có vấn đề
em không quên những chiếc tã bẩn
anh phải mần nửa đêm
để em được ngủ thêm

thì thật sự là em đã khóc
vì sự hôn nhân là những nỗi sốc
nhưng em không thể tưởng tượng ra một cuộc đởi nào
ngoài cuộc đời này với anh

      2. 30 years is a good number! We’ve been married 53 years, and neither of us, to my knowledge, has tried to kill the other yet! However, I “died” on her about 17.5 years ago after a massive heart attack and an incredible journey to a heart transplant. I’ve been told if I ever try that again, she WILL murder me! Love your posts and pics! ❤️
