A poem in Vietnamese by Lê Vĩnh Tài
Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm
the day I fell in love with her
light gradually fading
by the minute and the hour
time drifted in slow motion quietly passing by
the moments disappearing into forgetfulness
in the dying light love
you’re crying fading away down memory lane
and I can no longer remember
the number of times I had to look back
oh the sad wrinkly face
oh lonely heart
tears of resentment
searching for absolution
lost time
not my ego otherwise
it’s not me but Nguyễn Khải

Beautifully written, the second stanza is particularly melancholy and makes one feel a sense of loss.

Work? On/with the blog? It is just something I do. Hoping my children will read it some day. While I am still alive. 🙂
